Delete your data: in the app's account settings, or email privacy@okafor.example.

This policy explains what information Tallyho (the "app") collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and what you can do about it. The app is made by Okafor Labs ("we", "us"). If anything here is unclear, email privacy@okafor.example.

The short version

  • We collect only what the app needs to work, plus anonymous crash and usage data to fix bugs.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing privacy@okafor.example.

Who is responsible for your data

Okafor Labs is responsible for (the "controller" of) personal information processed through Tallyho.

  • Contact: privacy@okafor.example
  • Website: https://example.com/okafor-labs

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Messages to us. If you email us, we keep the message and your email address so we can reply.

Information collected automatically

  • Crash reports and diagnostics. If the app crashes, it sends a report containing the device model, operating system version, app version, and technical details about the crash. These reports are not used to identify you.
  • Basic technical data. Like any internet service, our servers receive your IP address and request details when the app connects to them. We keep these server logs for 30 days.

Information that stays on your device

Tallyho stores your entries, settings, and files only on your device and in your own iCloud or Google Drive backup, if you have backups turned on. We cannot see or access this data, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • provide the app's features and keep your data in sync, if you use sync;
  • respond when you contact us;
  • find and fix bugs and crashes;
  • understand which features are used, so we can improve them;
  • keep the service secure and prevent abuse;
  • comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Legal bases (EEA and UK users)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide the app and the features you asked for.
  • Legitimate interests: to keep the app secure, fix bugs, and improve features, in ways that do not override your rights.
  • Consent: where we ask for it, for example for optional analytics or personalised ads. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app or by emailing us.
  • Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the app, and only as much as they need. They are contractually required to protect it and to use it only to provide their service to us.

Provider What it does for us Data involved Their privacy policy
Apple iCloud and Google Drive (sync) Hosting and database Account data, content you create https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Sentry Crash reporting Device and crash details https://sentry.io/privacy/
RevenueCat Managing purchases and subscriptions Purchase history, anonymous user ID https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
Apple App Store / Google Play Processing payments Payment details. We never see your card number. https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ · https://policies.google.com/privacy

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or merger of the app. In a sale or merger we will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

How long we keep information

Data How long
Crash reports 90 days
Server logs 30 days
Emails to us Up to 2 years after the conversation ends
Purchase records As long as tax and accounting law requires, typically 7 years

How we protect information

Data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access to stored data is limited to people who need it to run the app. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

International transfers

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. When we transfer personal information out of the EEA or UK, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the provider's certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Children

Tallyho is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA and UK, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email privacy@okafor.example and we will delete it.

Your rights and choices

You can:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, and get a copy in a portable format.
  • Correct information that is wrong.
  • Delete your information.
  • Object to or restrict some uses, and withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To make a request, email privacy@okafor.example from the address linked to your account, if you have one. We may need to confirm your identity before acting. We respond within one month, or within 45 days where California law applies, and we do not charge for requests.

EEA and UK residents can also complain to their local data protection authority.

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to delete it; to correct it; to opt out of its sale or sharing; and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. You also have the right not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. You may use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf.

Residents of other US states with privacy laws, such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Texas, have similar rights and can use the same email address.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
